Doping in sport is a controversial issue and repeatedly generates heated ethical and legal debates. In order to properly analyze the topic we need to provide a framework for the discussion of the mounting perplexities that now surround the legal prohibition of non-therapeutic enhancement in sport, i.e. doping.
