The mainstream approach in the study of how we perceive time has been dominated for decades by the simple assumption that perceived time mapped perfectly with the timing of neural signals. However, a handful of researches at the turning of the millennium has enforced the idea that perceived time is a product of dedicated brain processes which decode the flow of events.
